    Opening a folder

    Right,

Got my new comp so i put all my photos onto the new spinpoint. Just that now, the folder that has all my photos in won't open! Well, actually it will open but then as soon as its open it crashes explorer.exe! Is there any way to fix this or have i just lost all my photos!?

Also tried in safe mode and the same thing happens. Would a defrag or a disk check help?

    Cheers.

Run scandisk, see if it finds any disk errors.
Failing that, try copying it via command prompt ?
Linux boot CD with NTFS reading enabled could also be a last attempt option.

I once had a folder that would always crash windows explorer. The box that prompts you to close it would appear and ask you to end the process but I found that the explorer window stayed open behind itand i could copy my files out no problem. Don't know if that might work for you.
