Shouldnt you be in bed at this time?

You dont need to install sata drivers unless you are going to plug sata drives into the sata sockets.

for your graphics card...nip over to www.nvidia.com and grab the drivers. xp will install some bog standard nvidia drivers, but just get the latest ones.

    asrock drivers are here http://www.asrock.com/support/downlo...=939Dual-SATA2

im guessing at www.creative.com for the audigy drivers, not sure how good the xp ones are.

get all your windows updates as well

the only drivers you will need to install are the uli intigrated drivers from Here I installed the 213's but I see from the link there are now 2.20 available. The AGP driver is not needed as your running PCI-E. The sata drivers are not needed unless you are running in a raid configuration, iirc for normal sata use they are suported natively in windows, as I don't use sata I disabled the ports/controller in the bios.

    Thanks Guys!

Curly just to confirm; Theres no need for installing anything on the Asrock mobo cd just install Nvidias uli 220 from lnk. Is yours stable on these? Also i am thinking on a Sata HD as a 2nd HD i understand it can be installed as a ide drive, but can i install it as a Sata drive for docs/backups etc (non raid) and if so do i need the drivers on mobo cd or will HD come with a set? And the CPU does that have drivers also or is it better to let windows sought it out? Thanks

I've not had any problems using the Uli intigrated drivers, so you should be fine, as for sata as I understand it, if you are just using a sata drive on the sata controller/port (not the sata 2 one) you will not need to install any drivers for it to work though I can't personally confirm this as I haven't got a sata drive I can try.

Ahhh! Just messed up Bigtime! I installed the nvidia drivers and changed the lacation to F: partition but failed to put them in their own 'nvidia' folder via programs folder so now i have little files everywhere! What should i do ps? Re install windows or just uninsatall drivers and reinstall them into their own folder ie; F:/progs/nvidia or should i have put them in the C: partition with windows originally? If so how ps!
    Doh!

These files you have, can you tell me what the file names of some of them are so I get an idea of what they are for, as I'm at a loss about what to advise, to install the 2.20 intigrated drivers (this is going by memory.......) the 2.20 drivers will be a .zip file, unzip the file to a temp folder, anywhere will do for now, navigate to the folder that you extracted the files to and it should contain a readme.txt and a setup file (intigrateddriver2.20), double click the setup and it will do it's thing by extracting the drivers and bringing up the install proggy, from there read any instructions and follow any prompts and let it install the drivers in the default locations, after it has done it will most probably ask if you want to reboot select the reboot option and the comp will restart and that should be it for the drivers.

Thanks curly! No i beleive the uli installed ok .i think they went into the c: windows directory as i did not get prompted! But the Nvidia Display drivers prompted me on instalation of where to put them. I dont think there a program or nothing just the drivers for the card (GS7900) Also the yllow excmtn mark has gone and its all seems to be OK but they obviously cannot be loose in the F: partition!
    Thanks

ah I'm with you now, with the gfx drivers it will extract to a folder normally on the C: drive from there it installs the drivers, after the drivers are installed and the computer has re-booted it is safe to delete this folder, so it is safe to say that the files you have on the F: drive can all be deleted.

Thats great Curly thanks! Its actually not a Folder that there in,more like 30 odd loose files! but that could be because i changed the default location ie C:nvidia/driver name So when i pointed it to F: thats why they installed in mass! Oh well mate if i delete all of them and reboot and something happens i will know its wrong. lol!! One more Qs curly! In future when i have to install drivers and certain PC apps will i need to be any of them the C: partitition, such as mouse /keyboard drivers and progs that are related or things like temp monitor progs/sis sandra/Hijack this etc? If not will it be ok to delete the progs folder in C: and put everything in F:? Ps sorry if i am confusing you but i am a right 'ol perfectionist
    Cheers

if you mean the "Program Files" folder on the C: drive, leave it as it is, as a rule..... drivers, system files...etc, install to default locations (easier if you have problems....etc). Applications, games, uttilities can be installed on any partition, many people leave the c: drive for windows related stuff and have a seperate partition for everything else.

Thanks Curly! Wouldnt the space run out as i only have given C: 12gb ? Would the C: apply to Apps like Nero/ Photoshop due to codecs? Thanks Mate!

you could always backup the C: partition as it is now and install a few things... see how much space you need.......... then just increase the partition if need and restore the back up, I would install to where ever you feel you have the space or what ever your personal preference is.
