New system for 2007 questions.

I'll try and be as brief as possible but also as detailed as I can.
I want to build an updated system with performance in mind. Initially I wanted to go with Asus PW5-DH Deluxe i975 chipset MOBO,E6600 core 2 duo,OCZ DDr2 800mhz Special OPs(2X512),250GB deskstar T7k250 SATA HDD, Sapphire's X1900XT 256MB PCI-E Crossfire,Watercooled by "Thermaltake's Volcano 4008 cpu,Aqua brazing copper vga, aquabay M3 reservior, 12cm Big radiator, Xoxide.com's Northwater Xtreme water Xchanger (2 per), and Hydor's L30 320gph pump all with 1/4" tubing."
I was going with the i975 chipset because of the future compatibility with the Quad cores due out starting next month. But becuase of the way Intel has produced the new lineup of the quads @ 2 seperate core 2 duo on the same die sharing the same FSB which is a major bottleneck and applications, software, and games on mainstream rigs not overly utilizing the technology as of yet. It would seem that by the time that most applications do convert to the standard, let's say the middle or latter of 2007; Intel would have already converted from the 65nm microarchitecturet o the 45nm, which will be more efficient and probably over come this bottle neck of the FSB and heat issues.
So I'm thinking of going with the Asus P5W DH Deluxe i965 Wifi instead of the i975 because of cost issues and since I'm not moving up to the Quad core at this point. This motherboard is able to accept the kingston HyperX PC-8500 memory at 2.4v. So I was wondering would it be wise to stay with the dual ram set specified above or me getting (1) single 1066mhz kingston ram which Latency can reach 3-4-3-10 at stock 1066mhz speeds from one review. It's an expensive ram so I can only afford 1. What should I do?

quite simply opt for a 965 chipset sinec they can take the Quad cores, also the RAM get some 2GB PC2-6400 GeIL/Gskill Hz/similar stuff, best price for performance. My ram is doing PC2-8500 at 2.3V 5-5-5-15 which is plenty fast (remember C2Ds barely feel timings)
Wait until G80 is released before buying ur card, or even R600 if you can wait that long since prices will drop across the board I imagine .

G80 is the next-gen DirectX10 part from Nvidia (8800 series) and R600 is ATI's DirectX 10 part. Nvidia's is due next month sometimes, ATi's is Feb or so of next year. When they come out, the existing 'top of the range' cards and everything else should all drop in price, and so, by waiting a month or two you can save money.. (in theory). That's why my current 'new' rig has a X300 at the moment - I'm hoping on a nice price drop sometime before christmas
