    XP Temporary Internet Files

Forgive me if this sounds stupid but I am new to the world of XP, having just replaced my ME machine.

I am using Internet Explorer 6 and I cannot clear the temp internet files. I can clear them so that the screen looks clear but when right clicking then selecting 'properties' it shows files and folders in it.

I know with ME, you could right click on the folder in explorer and select expland and this would shown 'hidden' folders/files, but this does not seem to work with XP. In XP I am using the Local Settings option to find Temp Internet files. I have also checked the Temp folder and there is nothing in that.

If I copy the folder onto the desktop I can see files in the folder which I cannot see from anyt other view. It also allows me to delete them from this folder but not from the windows explorer view - and the folders remain there at all times!!

If possible, I would prefer not to have to install any applications to do this.

    Thanks for your help

Sorry probably this is not what you are after, but I use this one to clear internet history and temp files. It's very easy to use.

try checking the "delete offline content" box, then clearing it.

manual deletion? (i accept no responsibility for this )
