I would check the basic things first - power cable firmly plugged in, both at the wall and into the back of the monitor. Otherwise is there a secondary power switch on the back of the monitor which is in the off position?

Are the lights of the screen on? It could just be the connection between your VGA card and the screen

Are you sure the power connector was plugged back in exactly the same way as it came out? They can be slightly confusing in past experience. Also what 'card' do you mean and in what?
