DVD Problems

Hey Guys,

Usually pretty good with this sorta thing, but I'm stumped atm.

Basically, when I go to play a DVD Video, the audio stutters, the picture seems to be going 2-3frames/second too slow. Now I'm not really sure where to start. I doubt its video drivers, as I can game alright, and I've already run diagnosics on the DVD drive - which is capable of reading the disc fast enough.

So that left me with codecs - I uninstalled the codec pack I had installed, and the problem still remains

Any ideas?

Well I think I've fixed it - somehow switching between Video acceleration modes helped

Fixed it - The drive had dropped into PIO mode, so after downloading a script its been reset to UDMA-2 and works flawlessly now

Urrg, PIO mode brings back bad memories. I once had to put a drive intentionally into that mode to make some disk checking software work. Legacy protocols, code and ports, they just love to make our lives miserable.
