Video Signal Problem
I built a PC for my friend, and he took it home with him about an hour ago. I just got a phonecall saying he isnt getting any signal from the graphics card. It was working fine here though.
He has tried two monitors but doesnt get a signal from either. He did say he got a signal for a few seconds before getting a boot error though.
Any ideas?

nip over and check everything is still seated on the motherboard.

I reseated everything and it's fine now. Scare over :p

I hope you charged him a £25 call out charge :)

Just got a phone call. It's happened again. Any ideas? I'm gonna go round tomorrow with a DVI->VGA adapter to see if that helps.

I'm here now and the board isnt even posting. It's an Asrock DualSata. I've tried clearing the CMOS.

No POST? Not good. try removing all RAM and using one module only, trying each slot.
Did he put toast in the DVDROM at all?
-
I've tried reseating everything again, and using 1 stick of ram in each slot.
-
take everything out of the motherboard bar the power and the CPU - you get anything at all?

If I leave the CMOS battery out for a while, I get a continous beeping. I think it's the POST code for no RAM. Clearing the CMOS via jumper doesnt work though.
