Sound issues

Hi iv rebooted my Pc and for some reson my Speakers aint beeing picked up... iv tryed reconnecting its and messing about in the Control Panel/sound properties but all i have is my headphones in the pulldown can any 1 help?

what soundcard do you have? Os? Driver revision etc?

ok, go to 'start' 'settings' 'control panel' 'system' 'hardware' 'device manager' 'sound, video and game controllers' - is your sound card listed in there?
Or are you using USB speakers???? If so, are they powered and is the power connected?
