USB Drive Alarm?

Hi,

I have a 2GB USB drive that I run DSL on for personal use while at work, so when I leave my PC for a Tea or Wee etc... I am left with the choice of closing DSL and removing the drive or leaving it in, open for theft! A lot of contractors pass through the office and some mobile have gone missing:mad: !
So...
Does anybody know how to make your PC sound an alarm if a USB device is removed while the computer is locked?

I know there is software for laptop's to alarm when the A/C is disconnected while the screen is locked.

Any Input would be much appreciated.:mrgreen:

I don't know of any software, but a suggestion may be to go into control panel, then sounds. Download a sound effect from the net and assign that to when a USB device is unplugged. Of course, that would be the same for all devices, so think about that first.

Failing that, get a usb hub on a lead and tuck the hub and device under your desk, so its out of sight and away from any opportunists...

Good Idea!

I’m going to go with the USB hub, Tesco do a nice one for £5 which will be perfect.
There may be enough of a gap at the back of my filing cabinet under the desk to put the hub in there!

BUT if anyone knows of some alarm software it would still be nice to know!
