    npdsplay (any ideas)

had this problem for a couple of years now and knowone seems to be able to help.

on the majority of websites i can click on the link and watch video clips with no problem. i have posted some of the links onto my comedy forum without any problems and then all of a sudden when i go back to try and play it again i get the dreaded grey warning box:

    npdsplay
    cannot create direct show player.

has anyone got any ideas as to what this is and can i rectifie it.
im not a wiz at computers so if i have to change something in the registry i might just put up with it until i get a new computer.
    cheers in advance
    jim

    Which browser are you using?
If its firefox then try the same link in IE as you may find it works...

Anyway try reading this thread http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=297172

It suggests removing Windows Media Player (WMP) and reinstalling...

I guess your next step then is to boot into safe mode and remove media player...?
