    Hold music player

    Hi chaps.

At the mo we have a CD player (not a portable one, one of those big ones) that we connect to the phone system from the CD players headphone jack to play our hold music. Problem is that whenever theres a power cut, the CD player doesn't come back to what it was doing and so we don't have any hold music until someone realises.

Would a cheap portable cd player/mp3 player/minidisc player that has a battery that can also be plugged into the mains do the trick? I.E have it play while plugged in so that if there is a cut, it just starts using the battery power and then starts charging again when power comes back?

Cheap minidisc player here > http://www.inest.co.uk/products/Sony...LP_Walkman.asp

    Cheers.

Sounds like it might work... Alternatively why not plug the CD player into a small UPS?

Sorted now We put an old Palm Tungsten T to good use - Plugged in but will run off the battery when power is lost.

I use my Palm T|X as an MP3 player, but never thought about suggesting a PDA!
