I'm dreaming of a white scart cable

Does anyone know where I can get a 25m white scart to scart cable? I need it to connect a sky+ box to a tiny wee bedroom telly but the cable must be white. If anyone can find me a 25m white scart cable for less than £30 (quality is clearly not essential here!) I will paypal £5 to them as a reward.

I didnt know they made scart cables that long.

Just done a quick google and can find roles of 25 metres of scart cable but thats without the terminators.

Surely the signal would degrade too much over that distance?

if its for sky why not just use coaxial instead over that distance the quality would prolly be the same and white coaxial is really easy to get hold of

I would have thought an RF Video sender would be a better bet over that distance?

or what about the products that take video signals and encode them over CAT5e then decode them at the other end into the original signal. I've heard they can cope very well with distances up to 100m.

RF video senders are not very good quality from what i've read.

What is the optimal length of scart

as with any analogue cable, the shorter the better.

Generally accepted up to 5M for ordinary scart cables. Over 5M you should look for more expansive brands with something like "Guaranteed up to 10M" or something on the pack.
25M is really pushing it

Dudes, thank you for your replies, I am actually considering the tipex idea but thinking about painting that sucker with some white paint. This badboy needs to go round my skirting board so it cannot be any other colour than white.

Coaxial cable eh? Perhaps I'm being a numpty, I haven't actually checked my Sky+ box for any of that ass. Does a Sky+ box have a coaxial output? I imagine it does for those with old skool tellies.

No not coaxial, Cat5.

Although they use Cat5 cable, those converters i linked to do not attach to a network, they just manipulate the video from the SCART socket, send it over the Cat5 cable and then convert it back into regular SCART signals. I'm not 100% sure if they digitise then convert back to analogue, but thats how i think they work.

Should be fairly easy to get white Cat5 cable too. that will also be much easier to feed round skirting board.

yeah, ok, i missed that line in Kopite's post.

you'll also need an F-Type Splitter if you're using coaxial cable. and if you run it via scart, you'll need to keep the black box that the sky+ box is hooked up to (the one that the other end of the proposed "white-scart" to the telly plugs into) on all the time, so it can pass through.

Co-axial is a much easier way to go in this case i think:D
