    Dell Suport?

I'm cleaning up my aunts laptop (Inspiron 1300 with 256mb of ram) and I was wondering if Dell Suport actually does anything? It seems pretty useless to me. I've already killed McAffee and a load of other things. She wont let me get rid of aol though .

I disabled it on sisters laptop, hasn't affected her use - I kept it installed though, just incase the machine ever breaks and dell tell us to use it for something...I dont really know what it does tbh!

Thanks for the reply. I think I will just uninstall it. I wish I could take off aol. That would solve ALL her problems.

I killed AOL also, sisters machine is identical to the one your setting up, except 512MiB of RAM I think, its actually pretty speedy

I uninstalled it, and about 50 other pointless bloatware programs off mine and its much faster.

On the normal stuff, if you get the "business" stuff so latitude laptops and I cant remember the name of the desktops then they don't put so much stuff on. I am fairly sure that Dell [and most other system builders] get paid by companies to install their stuff on the machines. Like Google recently made a deal with a big pc integrator [HP?] to have all their toolbars as standard have google as the default home page .etc to try and get usage up with new computer users.
