sever problem!

got server 2003, ad have remote access setup on three other pcs.

but on this ast oc its giving us this error...

have changed about a few settings to no avail, any ideas

have you checked additional updates in windows update as XP had a release to do with server 2003 remote desktop in the past month or so..

i take it you tried the lowest security settings ?

disable firewall to check that ?

go into internet options browser history settings then view objects and remove installed objects.

Have tried everything apart from the past point. Will try that! Any other ideas in case its not?

This is a browser issue on the client. Add the server to the trusted sites location which will allow you to run activex controls from there. It's part of the advanced browser security of Server 2003 (client looks to be server 2003, connecting to an SBS2003 server for RDP).

Already done. That was one of the first things I did I really cant think of anything else it can be as I have set it up many times.

why are you accessing it from a server anyways? Does it work from a client OS such as XP? Have you tried explicitly allowing Activex controls in the browser security (not that I would, especially from a server!)

Also does it work from the RDP client? (start>run>mstsc)

No Im accessing the server from a remote machine via an IP (using XP). It accepts my User and PW I can do all the normal things I.e Check emails on server etc but can not connect remotly to the desktop.

I have copied the settings from another machine that is working fine. This is the only one I can see the desktop on.

Sorry if im not being to clear! not great at explaining things Thats for all the answers Im still trying
