    New build not working

Have just replaced some stuff on my PC.

New motherboard, cpu, cooler and ram.

    I replaced
    Asrock dual sata2
    opty 144
    arctic freezer 64
    2Gb Gskill

    with
    Abit AB9 Pro
    e6400
    arctic freezer 7 pro
    2Gb OCZ DDR2800

All I did was remove all wires plugs etc. Took out sound and graphics card then removed mobo all in one.

Put the new stuff in and replaced everything. Checked all wires in correct place and when I switch PSU on, the mobo power led flashes then goes off and I can hear a high pitched whine that does not go away till the PSU is switched off.

    HELP!!!

Unplug everything and start again. You could have a cable inverted or something.

I have a modular PSU. I have just pulled every cable from it and unplugged the motherboard power leads. PSU is what is making the high pitched noise when I switch it on. Absolutely nothing is plugged in at all.

I think I've nackered the PSU some how.

Before I pulled the cables I checked to ensure correct orientation. Everything appeared to be fine.

    Edit
Have totally removed the PSU and its making the whiney noise straight away when switched on.
Could it have popped a capacitor or something if the load was too much for it?

It is about 2/3 years old.

My Neo480 also gave up on me after 11 months use. I RMAed mine to Holland and they gave me a new NeoHE500 instead. I had to pay like 26quid for the postage tho.
