Hi, I am having a problem, my hdd is a 200gb, on my hard
drive I find 110 gb used, but the properties of the drive say there are only 15 gb free. I have checked it with the hidden files and folders, but they do not change the used space.

Likely that when the system was installed, it was installed with a pre-SP1 windows disk. I think programs like Partition Magic can resize the petition to the full 200gb (or 180 or so if you take into account 1000/1024 conversion).

Fair enough, don't have much experience with Linux though (it is, however, on my list of things to do )
Maybe I didn't explain right, the full size of the hdd is there, but there are about 70 gb that are unaccounted. I just might try that out, but the installation has been done with a sp2 version of windows.
Sounds like the 132Gb limit of some Operating systems...
That's the thing *
(*Don't forget .. I'm definately not a techy )
I had it before at the full 186 gb, but then after a while I noticed that some of it can't be found.
i tried chkdsk, limited the reserved space for recycle bin and system restore only has the most recent. I'm still at 70gb that i can't find.
Can you post a screenshot of the PieChart showing usage (and associated figures)?
That would enable us to work out where its being lost and suggest the possible causes..
Dave
how can i post an image? i do not find the option for it.
You need to host it somewhere like Imageshack and then copy the location and place it between to IMG tags

Is system restore enabled?
