    IE7 Certificate Errors

    Hello All,

My dad uses my computer for online share trading in Malaysia (where hes from) and the site that he uses is legitimate and we've had no problems at all.

However, since upgrading to IE7, when he goes to their address he gets a "Certificate Error: Navigation Blocked" error. You can click to continue, but this has to be done every time.

Not a big deal you might say, but explain that to my old man - "It used to work fine...." - I'm sure we've all heard it before!! Anyway, I have checked and they do have a certificate, which has not expired, so i guess its IE7 just being picky.

Is there a way to turn off these notifications??? I dont mind security, but at least leave those who know a little the option to tailor what they want...

I've googled and the only solution that i can find is to turn off the "Warn about cerificate address mismatch" option in advanced, but still no joy?

    Can anyone help???

I'd also like to know this, some way to whitelist the sites would be good

personally, i say "good" to the forced dialogs

for far too long, the certificate system has been rendered useless by people just clicking through "invalid certificate" windows

if you install the certificate as a trusted authority does it not stop these issues?

I think it does, you just have to install the certificate from the site onto your local machine. It should then work.

My workplace is a college and the staff have external access to email from home, and since IE7 we always get certificate errors unless we install the certificate on the local machine.
