Another new PC thread

I know there have been alot of these threads so I'll aplologise straight off but...

I have been away from the UK for three years now and the ASUS laptop I bought at the beginning of that absence now takes around 4 minutes to load photoshop... not great.

Its been around 5 years since I built my last PC. I hoped they hadn't changed that much. They dont seem to have.

I have been researching the latest and greatest for quite a while now and have came up with the below spec... I wanted to go Quad core stright off but the prices are just too high. I can just swap the CPU later on though because they use the same socket (right?!).

The machine will used for a variety of things from gaming to web design to serving media to the tv. It needs to be fairly quiet as it will be in the lounge but it dosn't have to whisper.

The Antec P180 in black is £13 cheaper......your feet wont know any difference under your desk.

That will be a sweet setup, the P180 looks best in black.

If you are wanting a reliable motherboard, I wouldnt go for any 680i just yet.

I haven't purchased just yet, I am holding off until me or my wife get a job.

Regarding the above comment, I chose the new chipset for the flexibility at gives and I figured more future CPU's will be compatible with it.

I'm sure the current niggles will be sorted soon... hopefully.
