I am very pleased with my x1650XT its just below your price point, but should be in stock, I am not much of a game player, so I dont know how it will hold up against the big number cards.
There also seems to be a lot of room for over clocking I have had plus 200 MHz on the core and memory, but it did get quite hot... very hot @70c in fact, but I have a 80 mm panaflo I am working out a bracket for to help with that.

The have the 7900GS at £100 regularly on today only. Great price for a good card, tho admittedly if you can get the x1950
However I have always found the Nvidia drivers easier to work with, and for some reason tv out has always worked for me perfectly with nvidia compared to ati's efforts.
But for in game performance ATi wins hands down.
