well its got a 3.2 celeron processor, asus P5VDC-MX motherboard, with onboard graphics and sound, 1GB DDR RAM, 250GB hard drive

dont really do much on the computer as in gaming wise, just really listen to music, surf the net that kind of thing but since ive installed vista it seems to be going really slow, programs taking ages to load, crashing for a few seconds.

Hi thanks for the extra information. If you ram is currently 2 x 512mb then you can buy another 2 x 512mb to give you an overall 2 GB of memory.

It does not matter which you buy either pc2700 or pc3200 as it will run at the speed of the slowest which is your current pc2700.

You must put memory in, in pairs of modules therefor I suggested above 2 x 512. Please check that you have spare slots before you buy new memory.

    Good luck

well ive got 2 DDR and 2 DDR2 slots and using the DDR slots atm but it says in the manual not to use DDR and DDR2 at the same time, so it doesnt matter what PC ram i get as long as the MHz r the same, does it matter if they are not the same?
could u explain abit more of what u mean by pairs as i didnt quite get what u ment, sorry if i sound dumb

For best performance you must fill a two ram slots. As you can only fill either two ddr or two ddr your best bet is to buy a matching pair of ddr2 at 667.

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=291364

will give you 2Gb but you will have to remove the two sticks of ddr you currently have.
