    I won Patriot memory, but....

I'm not sure where to post this, so i will post here, sorry if i made a mistake.

I'm one of the winners of "Win one of 10 Patriot Intel Extreme Masters memory kits" contest.

Today i got call that my memory kit arrived and they asked what's in the package because they don't know how to fill their papers, and so i tell them what it is, and then they say i need to pay the custom toll and to pay their service which is in total 45 euros. Now for memory kit which costs around 60 euros, 45 euros is a big price to pay since i won it. So it seems that my luck to get picked from pool of who knows how many thousands of people is worth only 15 euros. Can anyone give me any info on this, because it seems its some kind of mistake?

    Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a mistake - there should be no duty to pay on RAM, just VAT.

Re: I won Patriot memory, but....

Yesterday i got contacted by Patriot Marketing Manager Europe, they were really fast, i got contacted 10 minutes after they received my email. I explained them my problem, and today i got call from that delivery agency, it seems they fixed custom toll problem and even more. I want to thank Patriot team, i'm not used to this kind of fast and efficient customer support, it's really slow and painful in my country, thank you.

I'll give more updates after i finally get my hands on that memory kit.

p.s. Thank you DR for help

Of course new problem arise, these shameless people from Tim Cop aka TNT delivery agency now ask for 80 euros, and they actually called me to ask if i want to pay...
Also i got update from Patriot team, they will find alternative way to send it.
I just hope these greedy people from Tim Cop don't get a dime.

If you win something, then that counts as an gift so you don't have to pay customs unless the value is very high.

There isn't any duty for RAM anyway, doesn't matter if gift or not.

No, depends on the value of the parcel coming into the country which is outside the EU and not the item.
