A reply to the person who emailed us on 17 Apr 21 about HEXUS Competitions
Hello all
Busy busy busy here in HEXUS towers, and the latest Noctua Competition was popular :) and we had Winners from the UK and from "Down Under" in Australia
But you can't please all the people all the time, and while I know regulars here such as GSV Trig would LOVE to win and haven't..... - here's a note we recieved recently
Quote:
Reason: Idea
Department: Support
Message: I have enterd every comp for 5 years stright and won nothing this is a con fake scam bull **** name one person I can se who dose not work for you
We didn't reply directly - i thought it best put here really, for transaprency
So... in reply, some recent examples
https://hexus.net/tech/features/cool...redux-bundles/
https://hexus.net/tech/features/stor...rtable-ssd-wd/
https://hexus.net/tech/features/ram/...4-memory-kits/
Indeed, every winner is plotted on the result page
https://hexus.net/competition_winners/
Obviously we don't share full name address and blood group, inside leg measurement or indeed what car they drive... if at all.
But...they are legit winners. Real people who dont work for us
And sometimes, the "lucky" winner loses their email in Spam and misses the chance, which is heart breaking.....the system auto chooses another winner and they too are real people, living real lives and not working for us
SO.. if you enter.. CHECK SPAM!!!
#justsaying
Re: A reply to the person who emailed us on 17 Apr 21 about HEXUS Competitions
Hahaha, brilliant, hasn't won a compo in 5 years, well, I'm pretty sure that there are people here that have entered every single competition over a much longer time period, and still won zip...
It takes about 30 seconds to enter a compo, so in the grand scheme of things if this person feels like they are 'owed' something, perhaps they could get their time back by not writing messages like that and maybe, just maybe, invest in a spell checker...
Re: A reply to the person who emailed us on 17 Apr 21 about HEXUS Competitions
I don't enter every comp anyway, as I don't need/want many of the prizes and it's just selfish to lower the win chances of others who might really need them.
But in case it matters for the next one I do enter - A Pos, 34" and 2003 Octavia 130PD ;)
Re: A reply to the person who emailed us on 17 Apr 21 about HEXUS Competitions
While I haven't entered every single competition, as I too only enter the ones that I think I'd be able to make use of if I won, I can say it's certainly been longer than five years.
Perhaps there would be a site out there somewhere that would pull the shady trick that they are suggesting, but HEXUS is certainly not one of them.
I don't know if Zak33 is allowed to say what sort of numbers tend to enter HEXUS competitions, but I suspect it to be quite high and thus completely understandable that people can go years without winning - especially if they are global ones.
This person seems to forget that HEXUS and its partners don't need to do competitions, but they do it anyway and it results in happy winners. Sure, it has its PR benefits for both, but if they didn't do it, this person would have no competitions to complain about not winning in the first place.

Re: A reply to the person who emailed us on 17 Apr 21 about HEXUS Competitions
oh wow! I just posted this sarcastic post in the other thread, but at least GSVtrig was clearly joking. WTF? If it's time to German motorway their user account I know a man who's good with (virtual) tarmac and steamrollers... :naughty:
Do hexus comps even ship to Aussie? Half of them are UK only (and quite rightly too IMO). Is the galah entering UK comps? If so you should make sure they win one just to tell them they can't have the prize anyway!
Re: A reply to the person who emailed us on 17 Apr 21 about HEXUS Competitions
Clearly joking, erm, hello, have we met?
Re: A reply to the person who emailed us on 17 Apr 21 about HEXUS Competitions
In 18+ years of being a member here I think I've won 3 competitions. I must be one of the lucky ones.
By the way, on reviewing my bank records I seem to be missing 18+ years of wages during my employment here. Please send appropriate reimbursement & interest tout suite.:p

So that's why I've never won anything, no one told me you wanted my inside leg measurement. ;)

Oh it was leg measurement??! No wonder Zak33 blocked me :undecided
Re: A reply to the person who emailed us on 17 Apr 21 about HEXUS Competitions
I've decided that it's time I won something again, so bump my name to the top once more, Zak.
Nudge nudge, wink wink.
Anyone else find it properly funny that the guy expects to win? I just imagine the poor soul raging every time someone else's name comes up.
It's hilarious.
Re: A reply to the person who emailed us on 17 Apr 21 about HEXUS Competitions
Ive more or less stopped entering HEXUS comps, now Im admin Im even less likely to win :)
(just kidding, I still enter when I need/fancy something on offer !)

Is this where we come to exchange our sense of entitlement for free stuff?
Re: A reply to the person who emailed us on 17 Apr 21 about HEXUS Competitions
Maybe Hexus can make a competition which is winning the chance to buy a new GPU at RRP! I expect it will be a hit!! :P
Re: A reply to the person who emailed us on 17 Apr 21 about HEXUS Competitions
NIce to see some comedy and humour :)
FYI : each brand decides how far afield they want the reach, because
A) they have to safely ship a prize
and
B) how far afield they are in charge of and influence.
If you are UK Manager of "Zak33 Gaming" and you put up a £500 prize, you really want it to be won by one of your UK market area, because you want your market area to think of you next time they buy something.
Simples!
Noctua can easily ship globally AND sell globally. And they are in charge of everything in one office.
A very well structured brand tbh...
but Zak33 Gaming... an utter idiot runs that, and he has zero ability to ship to Peru or New Zealand ;)

What about the ISS? I presume that's where these Space Cadets are calling from?
Re: A reply to the person who emailed us on 17 Apr 21 about HEXUS Competitions
Hmmm. This perfectly rational complaint gives me an idea. I'm off to email Camelot and ask what those scammers have done with the Lottery Jackpot I clearly should have won by now.
Oh, wait .... :embarrassed:
Re: A reply to the person who emailed us on 17 Apr 21 about HEXUS Competitions
I've been visiting Hexus for at least 10 years and entered pretty much every competition on the site in that time - Money has always been a little tight to buy 'luxuries' until recently so I've always been hopeful! Am I disappointed not to win anything - yes? Do I think its unfair - no - Hexus must have 100,000's of entries so I've a low chance of winning. I'll keep visiting and entering - ever hopeful. Thanks for running them!
Re: A reply to the person who emailed us on 17 Apr 21 about HEXUS Competitions
As the old saying goes, you've got to be in it to win it..

The headset suffered its demise in the hands of a friend at uni, the mouse disappeared as did the USB stick, but the mousemat is STILL in use by my mother :)
