Dell Poweredge 840 Server with 8GB RAM

I've also found a Poweredge server - quad core CPU, Hardware RAID controller that came with it new - Fine for disks - not for SSD's.

Any interest before it gets scrapped? Collection only, north Essex.

I think it's still sitting around somewhere. It's not OK for SSD's because the controller is old and slow. It was made when SSD's cost as much as a brand new car. Also, it is a hot plug chassis - i.e. The SAS/SATA interfaces must be in the position of 3.5" disks and SSD's with adapters don't fit. You would need a cable to convert the 4xsas connector on the controller to 4 separate SATA plugs to use any SSD. They aren't particularly pricey though.
