Think about the poor carrot, been skinned, chopped, boiled?

The moral vegie argument can be simply de-railed by analysising someones spendings, there are right now roughly 1.5Billion people in the world who are below the poverty line, dieing etc, because of a want for clean water. When we buy something like a packet of cigs, or a coffee from starbucks, we are implicitly making a choice, me over them.

So lets not get all uppity about morality of life taking.

Emo kids obviously don't have a monopoly on e-humor.

Used at the right times, and it sparingly, it can be funny, as in this instance.

I imagine some day, during a Political Debate, one of the members of the house will stand up and shout, "OWNED". It's bound to happen. Maybe he'll be emo, maybe he won't, maybe people will laugh, but it's still inevitable.

[edit: I'm going to make a new thread for the vegetarian debate, just for fun I'll post it when it's made]

I'm surprised nobody has suggested Indian food (though do the groundwork and find out if she likes spicy food first). Whatever you do *don't* do one of the "will this do?" pub specials: vegeburger, vegetable lasagne or cheese and brocolli bake.

If you do go for a curry I heartily recommend you take a look at Spicebox (www.spicebox.co.uk) - they do curry kits to your specification in a vacuum packed bag, delivered to your door. Add some veg (or meat, if you prefer) and cook the day before for best results.

Indian's not really all that romantic though - especially if you eat with your fingers

    Agreed with the non-pub advice.

    That's a nice idea

How does it compare to a good indian resturant? And are the prices ex del?

And as far as the music comment... I'm not emo, but I like some of their songs.

I also like Slayer, Metallica, Iron Maiden...

I don't see what your point is.

There's one in my home town, so I just drop by occasionally and pick a couple of packs up so I'm not sure on the delivery. As for how it compares - I prefer to cook and eat curry at home to eating out at a restaurant now, so I suppose that's about as good a recommendation as can be given.

As for curry not being romantic I guess you have a point, but for me personally the romantic gesture is more about the gesture than what you cook. That said, it's a good 5 or 6 years since I was last involved in anything like a date, so I may be out of touch...

    Re: Date style vegetarian meal?

Oh there's definitely a time and place for doing Indian (though if the girl is Indian then you've got double the pressure ) - it works especially well after something else like a night out. But if the date is the meal itself then Italian is much easier to give a good impression with - less risky too

Drink choice is important, and Italian is so easy (wine). Indian food goes best with beer or lassi, which is either unromantic or hard to procure

Advance warning: do not ask for it extra hot to prove how manly you are. Crying in a corner is not a way to impress anyone.

I know my limits.. from crying in the corner a lot

On a side note, my mate regularly does that most british of thing which is to ask them to make it as hot as they can.. but he eats it like its soup, quite scary really as the smell is enough to make my eyes water.
