I dunno whether this is the right choice but I like a nice glass of Chateauneuf du Pape when having duck.
I also recommend a nice Burgundian pinot noir, or a nice rioja as these should complement the earthy, gamey flavour of the duck quite well.

Was in a bit of a rush, but managed to find a nice Pinot Noir that went extremely well.

Try Hardy's Crest 2003 Cabernet Shiraz or Canti Merlot Sangiovese.
