They can push that up their arse as well along with the inflamed Vista prices....

Heh - yeah, perhaps not the most erudite comment was it. I just wonder if this is the small end of the stick and is MS' ultimate strategic intent to control (read charge for) all PC online gaming via 'Live'?

I'm just hoping they roll out the software fto keep track of your Live! friend list soon, XBList 3.0 is great on XP to keep track of what your mates are doing on Live but it doesn't like x64 Vista much
Feel Free to add me to your Raptr, XFire, XBL or PSN Friend List

Hell yeah... time to upgrade my silver account to gold now theres a good reason, plus I'll be on XBL more lolGood news for gamers who already have an Xbox Live Gold Membership – you’ve already subscribed. Your Live membership works on the Xbox, Xbox 360, and Live for Windows. Your gamer tag and achievements will be used across both Xbox and Vista PCs.
It's good to know that you haven't got to pay again if you're on Xbox Live, but then why should we have to pay in the first place, £40 for a game and £30 to play online with your mates is just wrong.
*sigh* you haven't used xbox live then I take it? Makes online gaming far far easier then the messing around with PC multiplayer. Friends list, feedback, opti match to name just a few live features. Nothing quite like it on PC. This is fantastic news and means that pc multiplayer will become a far easier and more enjoyable experience

I'll probably do it OEM style when I sort out my nephew's PC. I'd need to have 2 lots of Vista and 1 of XP Pro SP2 - can you legally do that with purchasing the components to build one pc even though they're going into two different computers? I don't need the support as I'm happy to do that myself, I just need the legal versions of those OS. Wonder if Scan can help there?
I think so - current OEM license is for non-peripheral component rather than a complete system.
Yes, but besides the point. Currently I can play games on-line without a subscription (should I wish to do so). Consider further down the line when MS decides that all games can only be played online via Live in order to have the 'games for windows' branding (at lets not forget, thats all this is), publishers push this down to developers and bang, no more online play without a live subscription. And that there my friend is the rub. This is a land grab.*sigh* you haven't used xbox live then I take it?
