they need to make an Av-HDMI thats what they need
Looks like a worthy improvement over the original, especailly the extra HDD space.
The only thing that springs into my mind is the price. I can imagine the new 120gb drive and the 'Elite' console itself being vastly overpriced, but we shall see.
I personally dont like the look of it in black. Since the PS3 came out the xbox console unit design looks very dated and black doesnt seem to help.
If its well priced (unlikely IMO) though its going to be great news for people looking for a cheap xbox as there could well be a flurry of the original beige ones being sold, driving down their resale price.
I'll be using the other tried, fiddly yet perfectly working method of using my main media centre based system to transcode on the fly to formats my Xbox360 can support.
This gives a wide scope of services to use in regards to purchasing online content and doesn't limit me to the pricing that microsoft or their content suppliers will set.

As for UK release dates, if you listen to http://centracomm.cachefly.net/major...'s Podcast about it.... Albert mentions that the Europe release date isn't set, but is more likely to be in the summer (possibly to coincide with a European Video Marketplace release?)
Diablo (Main PC): Corsair Air 540; Gigabyte Z77-D3H; i5 3570k @ 4.4Ghz; 16Gb Corsair Vengeance PC3-12000; 120Gb Samsung 840 EVO; EVGA 980 Ti Hybrid; 2x Dell U2414H; Windows 10 x64.
Imperius (VM Server): 2x Intel 5640, 64Gb RAM, 2x1Tb, 6x Intel NIC, VMware ESX 5.5
Tyrael (File Server): Synology DS410 w/ 4x HD154UI; 2Gb RAM; DSM 5.2
i think that is shiny toy syndrome (not having a go - i suffer from it badly ) although I have to say inthe flesh the PS3 dissapointed me in its looks, I dont know why.
I like the look of it in black, depending on trade in price for an old 360 I might get it - I am running out of space and when the video marketplace comes to the UK I will defo be using it, the HD stuff Ive d/led looks awesome
Its definately shiny toy syndrome I should imagine most people on here suffer from it.
My mates got a Wii, 360 and PS3 all hooked up to a Pioneer 42" top of the range TV and a £700 surround sound system and we both agree that PS3 looks the best graphically (in Motorstorn) and in the unit design. That could just be personal taste though and is probably expected since its 18 months younger than the 360.
The one and only thing I can think that should have been included in my mind is integrated wifi. £59 for a wifi adaptor is extortionate.
Does anyone know if it is still an ordinary DVD in there or they upped it to HD-DVD (now that it has built in HDMI and all)?
Phil
EDIT: Don't worry, just watched the video as linked by Tom above and it says no HD-DVD upgrade built in.
Shame as surely that would have been the perfect time to do it.

I may well buy the bigger drive for Video Marketplace as YorkieBen said, but my concern is that some movie studio or other is going to get all worried about letting 360 users send high def films over component connections. While they say there won't be any elite-only content, if HDCP becomes an issue people may be forced to upgrade...
