In Boom Boom Rocket, players trigger rockets to the beat of the music while travelling through a 3D cityscape. The better the player times the explosions, the more spectacular the fireworks effects.

Thanks for the review Steven, there doesn't sound like there's much to this game. But then, sometimes the games that seem so simple turn out to be great.
I'll be giving the trial version a download shortly. It's a shame it doesn't feature online multiplayer.
That's the major downer Parm. It's a great quick blast and worth a few quid, but it doesn't have any re-playability.
I've finished it now and doubt I'll play it again. Very pretty though and quite relaxing.
Like to see more games like this, but with a bit more meat on them.

Is there any real skill involved? I was hoping it'd be more like Geometry Wars, there isn't really a lot to that either but the learning curve on Geo Wars is huge. When playing it you can get a score of 100,000 and be totally chuffed. But at the same time, with enough skill you could get a score of 1,000,000 and it sure does take some doing.
I'm not sure if BBR offers as much a challenge though.
This sounds very similar to fantastiavision which was a launch game on the ps2. I'm very interested in this and shall give the trail a download for sure!

Just think of Busta-Groove where you basically have four buttons to press. Hard is very challenging, but it's probably more about the speed of your reactions than skill.
I think the game is more about the style and visual effects and sounds of fireworks, like I said it's relaxing, different, but nothing that will blow your socks off game play wise.
I heard it's very like Fantavision, but I've never played that.

completely different to fantavision. Fantavision had a line which you had to trace between same colour fireworks and blow them up before they fade. This is more of a DDR style game without the dancepad.

I really enjoyed the trial so I've just purchased the game. I need a few little party games like this for when I have friends and family over. My sister in law loves it already.
Some of the tracks in the full game are ace too, some are just plain manic!
Ta for the review there can always be more rhythm games.
Looks fun, but the best rhythm game was Vib Ribbon.. man i love that game - i mean, the fact you could play with your own CD's was pure genius!
I like it, but from the demo I didn't think it was worth 800pts. I think I'd pay about 400pts tops.
