IDF 2007 : Intel packs entire system on to single chip!

We already know that the Intel Core microarchitecture offers an impressive performance-per-watt metric. The processor design, however, is an intrinsically expensive one to fabricate and certain markets don't require the pure compute power on tap.

I'm sure these kinds of things have been done by other manufacturers before, but it's good to see Intel join in - plenty of market opportunity though margins must be just a fraction of the desktop chip market.

Intel have lately started advertising a lot more 'low power' stuff through their developer mailing lists, the reason i mention it, is it seams very similar too the stuff Via have been sending me since i first was wow'ed by their Eden platformed, and registered for all the free crap i could get

I'm looking forward too more competition on the small form factor, low whattage front.
