Sounds about right, up untill around about 1 1/2 years back, all my pcs (whether for myself, or those built for friends/family) were amd based due to price/performance against intel.

Now, with the c2d (and the core due before) blasting amd out of the water, I'm supprised that the share isn't higher.

If amd hadn't switched socket on me, I might still have an amd pc, as it would be cheaper to just upgrade the cpu to a higher amd, but when it came to upgrading I had to do just about the lot, cpu, ram, mobo so I had a choice, stick with amd on the am socket, or go with intel's c2d, no choice really c2d wins.

intel just took back what amd took when the athlon 64 came out, it seems a little unfair, i like AMD, and they really had somthing with the athlon 64, and intel stil retained the majority anyway....

I like amd too, I'm using one now. If business was fair they would have 50/50 share, but where would the competition be then?

My next build is for my father, he's not too demanding so he getting an amd am2, but MY next build will be intel (unless amd pull something spectacular off, doubtful).
