Thought I bought the first one, but I've just bought the second. Very enjoyable, but pretty tricky.

What I didn't know was the PW games were originally designed for the GBA, only the newest one, the fourth in the series, soon to be released in Japan (or possibly already released) is the first one made specifically for the DS. The DS version of PW: AA, which was the only version released over here, has an extra case, case 5, with shows some of the cool stuff they're going to do with the fourth game.

Still haven't played that one. I've mostly been playing Castlevania DoS and PoR on my DS (and the odd game of Yahtzee).

What are the new DS Castlevania's like? Got really into SoTN, I heard at least one of them isn't fantastic since it wasn't developed in house.

I've quite enjoyed both of the castlevania games on the DS so far.

The first is the sequel to the last GBA game with you again controlling Somna Cruz (the latest heir to the Dracula bloodline who has no intention of becoming Dracula).

I seem to spend most of my time repeatedly killing creatures in order to obtain their souls (which gives you new sub weapons depending on which soul you equip, the more souls you obtain for certain skills the more powerful they become).

You learn seals as you progress in the game and you need to memorise these for boss fights as once you've depleted most of their energy you need to draw the correct seal on the touch screen in order to finally defeat the boss.

The second has you playing the latest Belmont (who has lost the ability to use the powers of the 'Vampire Killer' Whip) you've also picked up a 2nd character (which you can switch between at will with the B button or have both on screen with the Y button) who is a magic user and attacks with different spell books (if you've reached the Library in SotN you'll have seen the books with the blades which is one of her weapons).

The 2nd game feels bigger than the first as you've not only got to defeat the castle but several "paintings" behind which lie each of the games main levels and bosses.

I do enjoy brain training, it's the reason I got my DS lite, very unique game (or at least was), and makes great use of the touch screen. Although I haven't played it since I scored 20 years old on my brain test cos I don't want to mess it up
