Thanks for this, Nick, appreciate the heads-up.

Not that Lost Planet is particularly groundbreaking, but I feel like blasting through something next week. Anyone know offhand what the full version PC release date is?

Currently pulling down the DX10 Vista version, see how it runs on my Rad X1950 Pro. Apparently will have finished downloading in 20 mins so will check it out after I've been in the shower.

Just found out it doesn't! Thought the DX10 version was literally for Vista users, unfortunately it is aimed at the DX10 cards not the OS. Good for DX10 card users though!

Pulling down the DX9 version now. Will be trying it on Vista 64bit Ultimate a bit later on as I have to get sorted for a job interview.

I was missing a dll when starting it up. After scooting about the net found that you may need to actually get the latest version of Direct X (April 07) for Vista.

Doh, already deleted the DX10 version from the PC, ah well see how DX9 goes!

    initial impressions + updates:

1280x960 max res, no 1680x1050... <-- cant change this <-- can change this, but it dies with an 'out of video memory' error
no way of inverting the mouse <-- can change this once in game
not really sure whats going on <-- still no idea
mouse 1 / mouse 2 seems to be the wrong way around <-- kinda is, but isnt, you'll work it out
mouse feels laggy, but that may just be my pc... <-- think its my pc, also turned up the sensitivity in-game... runs like a dog tho

I downloaded the dx9 demo last night and had a play. Its pretty good, the explosions are very well done, particularly if you get a bug caught in the blast, real Starship Troopers moments them.

@Streetster I have the same issue with the mouse - it has a laggy feel for me too. I thought as you, it was a performance thing but Fraps confirmed a pretty steady 30-40fps throughout (A64 4000+ @2.6GHz, 2Gb, 8800GTS) so my feeling is the game is the root cause.
What we share with everyone is glum, and dark...

Unless it's using Games for Vista Live then you won't be playing against 360 owners (even if it does used Live, that no guarantee of it being playable with 360 owners).
