COMPUTEX 2007: ASUS to showcase mobo with integrated memory?

We guess it makes sense to the consumer and takes the guesswork out of the buying decision, especially with DDR3 modules being relatively scarce. The question is, we suppose, how ASUS' DRAM partners will react to a one-stop solution from the motherboard giant.

I can see ups and downs with this system. Having onboard memory will undoubtedly reduce any compatibility problems, improve cooling, and possibly increase performance. The flip side is that you can't upgrade the memory (or even choose how much you want). Clearly a short lifespan enthusiast part.
