Do we know the min spec for Halo2 yet?
After seeing the min spec for shadowrun (dual Core/2gb RAM/7800 graphics card) I'm not holding my hopes up to being able to run it

Do you need vista to be able to use the live features?
Living and dying laughing and crying
Once you have seen it you will never be the same
Life in the fast lane is just how it seems
Hard and it is heavy dirty and mean
To my eyes the launch titles for this games for windows live pish are far from excellent. Shadowrun contains little more than a demo release and now they troll out a two year old xbox game. Bobbins.
What we share with everyone is glum, and dark...
I hope this is like the last one - you know - where they claimed the game engine cutting edge and it was the hardware to blame for the mediocre performance. The last one looked like ass, ran like ass and played like ass. With such big shoes to fill my expectations could only be described as:
"meh"
Well if the multiplayer is as good as the xbox then it will be great with the mouse and keyboard. Only interested in it for the MP, but not sure if I need Vista first for the live stuff.

yup vista def needed for "live", as for windows live games... well what a bad start, shadowrun and halo 2 are all pretty lame games and to think you need vista to play them, very poor!!, especially when you got crysis "the first game worth upgrading to vista for" anyone read the preview of the alpha in pcgamer? throwing chickens@ koreans
and crysis can be played in xp too! most of the in game videos you have seen are being run on a 7800 graphics card!
I don't think "Games for Windows" is off to a bad start, after all Company of Heroes & Lego Star Wars 2 were branded under Games for Windows and they're supposed to be pretty good. It's just the Windows Live integration into G4W that's a bit off.
I think it would have been a better idea if they'd integrated Live into messenger first so you can see your contacts on line on either PC (MSN/Yahoo/or whatever) or Xbox Live and then tie that into the G4W achievements/multiplayer.

why must this windows live thingy have to work in only vista? not everyone can afford vista!
I admit that even if i had the money fo vista now i would not purchase it due to its bugs
yeah i will probably buy crysis first to play on xp then by then there should be service pack out for vista and quite a few of the bugs cleaned up, then buy vista and replay in lovely dx10.
Lego star wars 2 came out as a normal pc game first then re-released in games for windows packaging, but the actual launch of windows live i.e halo2 and shadowrun is poor.
I may buy it, but im not going to be rushing to the shops to buy it.
Killing consolers will be fun though
Only with major parts changes, if you replace a load of parts (like mobo + CPU + RAM + GFX card) it's practically a new PC. £50 isn't really that much, I think retail is like £150 for permium, and I doubt you're going to need more than 1 OEM copy in the lifespan of Vista unless you really are going to make a major change to your PC.
It's no different than with OEM copies of XP.
