Improved sensitivity, lower power consumption and reduced heat output are the benefits that Animation Technologies claims for its latest LifeView TV tuner cards - courtesy of Philips' new chipset.
Unusually, the range includes five internal cards with PCI-E interfaces, along with a wide spread of ExpressCard models.

Any ideas what that white connector at the bottom is for? Looks like one half of an AT power connector :)
(at a guess i'd say it was for development and that is a pre-production board).
I can see the point of going for ExpressCard rather than USB, actually - EC's effectively a PCI-E x1 interface, so it's probably easier to implement if they're already doing PCI-E cards.
