Tiscali to acquire Pipex, c'Hoffs up 210m

Broadband and telephone provider Tiscali is set to acquire the broadband and voice divisions of Pipex. The deal, which is for a princely £210m, will take Tiscali's user base up to 1.9 million subscribers.

    WTF?

That's completely true, and in no way a humorous remark with which to close the story.

I wonder if they are going to make any sinificant changes to the T&Cs? I'm with pipex (and, so far, had only one problem that they sorted out after two weeks) and do not have a min. term contract, wonder if tiscali can change this?

Guess I'll just have to wait and see, if the service (not referring to custumer service here, that's already been flushed) goes downhill, then I'll move, but would rather not have the hastle if it can be avoided.

Tiscali are crap. I refuse to deal with any company which outsources their customer services.

oh great, so now my Nildram connection takes another step towards the plughole. I wonder how long before i end up being on an "unlimited connection" where i'm not allowed to download anything, and when i ring up to complain, being put through to another continent.

Oh great, I'm with nildram and I really fear for the worst

I think it maybe time to look for a new provider, before things take a turn for the worst.

At first I was with Bulldog and all was good. Then I was with TalkTalk and all was still good.

Then I got taken over by Pipex and it went south.

And now Tiscali ? I guess even deep south wouldn't cover it.

Entanet are brillant, Zen quality at a normal price.

although they only sell to businesses so there are several resellers, they all charge the same price just webspace and emails are different

That's disappointing. Two of my firends have tiscali and they do not seem that good. Pipex were ok for content ( never had to use their customer service much ) and speed etc so I think I will move on.

I always think the smaller companies provide better service .. so who's good ?
