Saw that on gameplay site, they stated that if you preorder and the price is lower, they will charge you the lower price. Didn't mention if they would honour the preorder price if the actual price was higher on release.
Apparantly GAME are going to do some sort of promotion in-store on release. I'm sure there'll be some sort of 'Trade-in your Premium for £x off the Elite', and (from reading the document when i was last in), they're going to offer an in-store data transfer of some sort, obviously if you trade-in your premium, and get an elite, you'll have lost all your data, and yes, the elite comes with a HDD transfer cable, but its not much use if you've already gotten rid of your console!
is it black so you dont notice all the charring from within
Here's the link to the page I was referring to http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/webstore/...-_-july07week3
oh lighten-up yorkie, with all the bad press the xbox is recieving i think its time we all hold hands and sing!!!
the comment was for all the people that are having a bad day and have a small sense of humour
p.s dont take it too seriously.
Anyways serious comment coming up.....
So what about all the people with hd-tv's that have only composite???? will you get a tv with hdmi?? or just stick with composite?
They are obviously adding a hdmi slot for a reason and alot of peeps with an xbox360 only have composite as a connection (which some will argue is the same as hdmi apart from digi audio)
How many peeps will swap to hdmi?
I take it you mean component!? Composite would look shockingly bad.
I would imagine most people who ditch their xbox for the elite will be doing so for the HDMI connection. People who dont care will just buy the 120Gb drive and leave it at that. Most people wont notice the difference between HDMI and component anyway, both can do up to 1080p anyhow.
It would be interesting to know just how many 360 owners play on HDTVs and how many on SDTVs.
I just dont understand why this package is so much more expensive than the normal xbox packages.
sorry got me comp's mixed up, i suppose most tv's have got comp and hdmi, but for the ones that dont, well the advantage of the elite isnt too great!
The HDMI port will be costing them next to nothing to add on. The main factor for the extra cost is the HDD, which lets face it, isn't exactly big or expensive by todays standards.
Most 360 owners globally will be playing on SDTVs anyhow.
I rather think the 'point' of the Elite is given away with the name, yes?
And as for arguing over HDMI connections on TVs, that truly is pointless... If you've got an HDMI connection going spare and want an Elite, you'll buy one... if you haven't got HDMI, you'll either upgrade your TV or stick with your existing Xbox 360/TV setup...
Yes, it really is that simple.
Oh, and anymore fanboi-ism disguised as 'jokes' will be dealt with... The Xbox 360's competitor consoles hardly have a trouble free history...
It does seem a big jump in price for the extra's especially if most owners have only component, I cant see them buying another new tv just for hdmi, (although for all the sdtv owners it could be a good time to upgrade) so if they stick to component then the advantages are very minor especially when you can connect up a pc hard drive, i suppose they chose the name elite when they compare it to the premium.
