Strikes me Sega have hit the nail on the head. I know a few people who won't pay the current asking price for a PS3, but would buy one if it were cheaper. And no hardware sales ultimately means no software sales, so it doesn't matter what price point Sony pitch it at, they'll still make a loss on it.
