Re: Halo 3 Review- Xbox 360
Good review, not quite as pro-halo as others I've read, which I like, as I personally think its a very good game but completely overhyped. It is, after all, just a game.
Re: Halo 3 Review- Xbox 360
multiplayer was good, nothing monumental, but the single player campaign wasn't great at all imho, i think it's completely overrated
still, you can't stop the hypemachine..

9.5? Not 10?
Controversial... ;)

lol, yeah.
I do think if it was just the single player I'd give it 8/10, but you can't ignore all the added features and just how great the multiplayer is. It's certainly got it faults in single player and I've enjoyed the likes of GRAW 2, RB6: Vegas, GOW better, but it's all about the multiplayer baby!
Re: Halo 3 Review- Xbox 360
I've had a few games on it. As you said (good review btw) the multiplayer, if only because of the vast amounts of things to do, the replay stuff, and the Forge, is class, and its the best multiplayer game on the system.
But, and this is why the 1up.com and other hype monkey reviews aren't worth the screen they are printed on, you'd have to not notice or care that the single player is hardly amazing, there are only 9 missions, the 2nd last mission is terrible, and considering this is Microsofts top peeps, working on the systems flagship game, it doesn't look as great as it could have done.
You'd also have to not notice that the friendly AI is appaling.
If the campaign had 15 missions, all of them well realised, and it looked like Gears of War, I could see the logic of a 10, given that its about as perfect as you could expect.
Those problems are there, and there is no point pretending this isn't the case, because you are a little hype monkey.
Good review anyway. :D
Re: Halo 3 Review- Xbox 360
I was going to mention that mission that you said was terrible (you mean the Warthog one?). I didn't want to spoil it by letting people know what happens, but if it was that one you were talking about, I thought it was pretty dreadful.
Re: Halo 3 Review- Xbox 360
I'm on the last level now (had to get Two Worlds out of the way first).
I've enjoyed the single player campaign so far, apart from the numerous times I've died trying to get through some of the sections, for example against the floods scorpion-like railgunners on the section I'm on now. Haven't attempted the Multiplayer yet (may replay single player to find the skulls frst).
