I've ordered it... Hopefully this OS upgrade will be more fun than my XP to Vista experience...

I must admit I'm tempted, but a voice is telling me to wait a month or two.
Can't wait. Got it ordered.
Can't wait for this one - my MBP is shivering with anticipation.
Wise old man won't you help me please? My house is a squash and a squeeze.
I've just expanded Tarinder's news story and put up the original press release - I started prepping them while the site was down this afternoon - but have just noticed a slightly worrying little para on Apple's site:
I say worrying cos a few weeks back I was messing with an old B&W G3 and ended up installing OS 9 and OS X 10.4 a couple of times each (no, don't ask!) and neither seemed to take much time at all.Easy Install
Installing Mac OS X Leopard couldn't be easier. Just pop in the disc and follow the simple on-screen instructions. You'll be ready to roll with leopard in about an hour or two.
Why might Leopard take two hours for goodness sake?
i am so interested in apple products and yet i cant bring myself to make the switch
Well, why not establish a half-way house?
Buy a second-hand Mac mini, mess around with it for a month or three and then, if you convinced that you'd like to fully move over to Macs, buy a new modern Mac and flog off the mini for, probably, much the same as you bought it for.
Ok... so what's the upgrade fee if you have a mac running 10.4 that you bought before the beginning of October? Is there no-one else out there that thinks this is a total rip off? I personally am pretty outraged that this is a minor version-number OS upgrade, and they're charging £85 quid for it... Microsoft offers its minor OS releases for free - the service packs.
Damn cheek if you ask me.... and yet everyone sucks in the BS that Steve Jobs is spouting - he's making out like he is doing everyone a favour.

There is no 'upgrade' option - where is the link to allow you to buy it cheap if you already have a mac (between 1st Oct and now)
I'm confused why they didn't do it for all new iMacs or 'recent released' products...
Oh, and a further point about Vista - I note that Slashdot highlighted an article headed, "Vista Runs Out of Memory While Copying Files", which is kind of scary.
