Although it would probably be cheaper to get another on eBay than to send it off for repair
you still have time to get it repaired.
personally, i have always been more of a sega fanboy myself, although its good to know of my n64 does go wrong i can get it repaired i guess, even though it hasn't been used in years.
i never realised that cartridge based consoles could go wrong though... suppose ageing capacitors could be the main problem
Tarnish/corrosion of the connector is a big problem. Also the loading mechanism for the NES has a habit of breaking. Remember, thats the one you slide the cart in, then push the spring loaded holder town to engadge
