    Did you fail to get yourname@hotmail.co.uk or yourname@gmail.com? Better act fast as Microsoft have now opened up registration for live.co.uk e-mail addresses.

    POP = Post Office Protocol
    IMAP = Intenet Message Access Protocol

    Basically they're ways of having your email physically on your PC rather than on (for example) Hotmail's servers.
