They had drivers for Althon64 CPUs too, was never sure what they actually did.
From that description it sounds like it's to enable features like cool 'n quiet, to downclock the processor when not under load.
Generally, these drivers enabled support for idle down sleep states. There are other patches AMD has released too which fix some timing issues within their multicore implementation.Quote:
