Wii can't meet consumer demand - again

Amazon sell 1,400 Wii on 10 minutes, HMV Oxford Street sell out in just over 30 minutes; it's the same old problem for Nintendo this Christmas.

I managed to grab one randomly from my local Game (in Wimbledon) so stock does appear, just not very frequently!
    Not around too often!

Re: Wii can't meet consumer demand - again

I managed to get one at the end of October from work of all places

Game and various other places had no stock at the time so it was lucky to be able to just pick it up and go home and play bowling to the wii small hours....

Amazon Germany has plenty of stock for anyone who is desperate to get one. Just go through the order process with a UK Amazon window open.

My sister bought one at the end of last week for £299 off Ebay. Waste of money. She only bought it specifically for Super Mario Galaxy.

Re: Wii can't meet consumer demand - again

Got mine thanks to Scan, no idea what I paid

The part that really hurt was having to spend another £120 on a further three controllers so Xmas day will be entertaining...

Re: Wii can't meet consumer demand - again

Update. Gamestation in Milton Keynes received 90 units this morning. Every other customer has been a Wii sale, with only a small hand written notice on the shop front saying they have stock. One downside, they are only selling them in bundles for £300. Any 3 games of your choice plus SSX is thrown in for free as well.

Its mad that the Wii is still selling out after a year. I got mine on launch day last year and love it especially with mario galaxy.

Got my friend one from a contact who works at Argos (he was very grateful as you can imagine) but now, it's difficult for the staff to even get them as there are many restrictions being put in place there.

Re: Wii can't meet consumer demand - again

Tell me about it. I held off getting a Wii for a few months while I was wrestling my 360Elite, trying to play a bit of Halo, and now all you get is Gameplay » Nintendo Wii - FREE UK Delivery type stuff.

So I'm reduced to playing it (Galaxy) at mates.

eBay has them going for big mark ups. I even tried to get one from a mail order catalogue that a friend of my moms runs and they were completely out.

All I've seen avalible are large 4-5 game bundles, which I don't want.

How hard can it be to meet demand for something which isn't even launching this Xmas... been around for ages. At chrimbo people will want to buy more of them - anticipate this and make more.

Anyone who is any good at Brain Training could tell you that.

So I wont be getting stuck in to Galaxy properly until next year.
