Are they even that good?
I know two Wii owners - one is selling his on eBay as he never plays it, says it boring. The other person just has it for the sake of having it, dont think he even has any games besides Wii Sports.

demand from whom?
most of the demand is for people who struggle with "widescreen" versus "4:3", let alone people who want epic HD gaming experiences. but that's an enormous market
wii sports is a game the extended family can have fun at at the xmas gathering. gears of war is not. that's where the demand comes from - even non-gaming adults are going "i got to get me some of that!"
I'll take one!
But then I have my PC for epic HD gaming experiences![]()
like my parents they too want a wii yet they hate game consoles in general. its the only reason why im looking for a wii anyway. i still feel that nintendo are purposly not making much unites. they know its demand and tbh after nearly a year out, there should not be a shortage of wii's.

Why are old lady feet warmers so in fashion? Bloody horrible things.
I secured a christmas wii!
Not around too often!
tons of DS Lites in most shops in my city.
It is Inevitable.....
My sister got a DS lite from Virgin on the weekend, they had loads.

Nintendo are currently producing 1.8 million Wii's a month. Thats probably at full production capacity. You yourself has pinpointed the reason why its hard to get a Wii at this moment, there are so many non-gamers buying into it. If that hadn't happened then there would be no problem right now with stock. Nintendo made a statement some months ago that they would not be able to produce the numbers required for the christmas period.
Nintendo have done a great job with getting the console into the mainstream, more so than any other. Now all we want is some games for gamers.
I would get a Wii if there where any in the shops. The only ones are rip off bundles around the £300 mark... no chance i'm paying that kind of money.
I even have a 360 with HDMI I never play. It has 12 months Xbox live I have not even registered yet!!
