Perfect timing! I'm heading down to Essex for Xmas Can't wait for the deep vein thrombosis to set in after being trapped in the car for hours.

Does that mean they are just gonna pull up the roadworks or make sure that the roads are ok first?

We`ll end up with no roadworks but half the road missing

Re: Highways Agency lifts roadworks for Christmas

To help ease our journeys, the Highways Agency has completed or suspended nearly two thirds of all major roadworks. Thirty-four sets of roadworks have been completed and a further eighteen are being suspended in an effort to make Christmas travel as smooth as possible.
Sonds like they're not doing anymore major work, or cordoning off more roads/lanes!

but if your half way through resurfacing a lane of the m5, what do you do, you just keep the cones out and do no work. Call me a skeptic, but i smell an alistar campbel.

Re: Highways Agency lifts roadworks for Christmas

A week later and for those in Manchester, who know the works outside Heaton Park, they have appeared to stop.

A couple of days ago the road scared me as a white van on the left of me swerved out into me (causing me to brake) and then I noticed that they did so to avoid the barriers that had blown over, these weren't put back upright till 3 days later....

The last few days I've been extra careful here to make sure my new car doesn't hit the barriers and scratch my new car!
