I would disagree with half of those games being the best of 2007. Lego starwars! how did that make it in there?

I wish I hadn't sold my fat DS a few months ago so I could play The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass. That game looks very good.

Well, you can read the IGN or Gamespot review if you like, and quotes such as

'An amazing replay editor, four-player online co-op, map editor, and community support make this the most robust feature set ever in a videogame'

'This is the reason God created Surround Sound. Halo's theme is a futuristic anthem that inspires the troops. The chatter during combat is fantastic'

'There are a few questionable design choices in the campaign, but this series remains the most fun first-person shooter on the planet. Multiplayer and the Forge are fantastic'

'The campaign won't take you long to complete, but this is a game that can be played for years. There are so many things to do, and it's so much fun to do them'

should leave you in no doubt that this is a game of note. Its certainly far better and more important, as well as a ton more fun, than almost all of the games that made the list.

The hoppers are great, the maps get better as you learn the little tricks and tactics to get a small edge, the replay mode and movie modes are brilliant, and the Forge provides endless variations to keep things fresh.

Halo3 rewards you if you stick with it, learn the game, learn to use each weapon, learn every spawn point, every sniping position, every corner of the maps. Then you start to see the depth and the team work elements coming in, and its exciting. All the time staying fun.

The bungie.net stuff, superb sound, production values, new content, and most importantly the fact that the hoppers are always ramed so you can jump right into a game, round the package off nicely.

Its one of those games you turn on for 'just a few team slayers' and you put the control pad down 4 hours later, and I bet its the only 360 game I own at the moment that I'll still be playing in a years time.

Don't get me wrong, it was over-hyped, and anyone who gave it a 9.9\10 is a cock. Halo3 is a fantastic game that was put forward as a perfect game by some hype monkies. The 9.4-9.6 scores it seemed to get from most respected sites seems about right.

Its the multiplayer game of the year hands down. And you are taking the mic if you can't see this.

Halo 3 is great, I love it for the multiplayer and if it was an Xbox 360 top 5 games list or handhelds weren't included then there's no doubt it would be there. It narrowly missed out.

    Still a brilliant game.

My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

0iD: Plus weeing in it every now & again does it good
scaryjim: 10" is just a little large to hold comfortably in one hand, which makes it a lot harder to tap, swipe and generally interact with.

Narrowly missed out on a list that had Lego Star Wars on it.

The DS version of Lego Star Wars is great and the Wii version (with Wii lightsaber is great fun).

Forza Motorsport 2 would be on my list, right up top! I do love racing games though.

I personally don't like Halo 3 as it doesn't suit my tastes, but in the grand scope of things it should make a top 10 list. It's appeal is huge and the multiplayer options it provides and nothing short of sensational. If you like your console shooters, they don't come much better.

Don't listen to me though, Guitar Hero would have made my list too!

I'm sure it is great, but the fact is a game that has 'the most robust feature set ever in a videogame', an amazing soundtrack, and the most fun multiplayer play I've played all year got an also-ran mention.

If Bioshock (looks great, once its finished its finished, no multiplayer), Lego Star Wars and some of the others make the list, you can't not have Halo3 on there.

As Parm just said, the sheer scope of the multiplayer is amazing, ground breaking, its raised the bar for multiplayer FPS games, in more ways than one, and its fun to play.

End of the day, any best of list without Halo3 isn't worth wiping your bum on.

    Where's World in Conflict?
Awesome visuals, good campaign and easy to play.
    No boring base building either

It failed to make the list. Its a rather un-inspired non-mold breaking game. Get over it

Well, fair enough, I think its a strange choice not to include Halo3, on a top 10 list with 11 games, some of them hardly world beaters themselves.

S'only Stevens opinion I suppose. Not his fault its wrong.

What, it's going to contain 21 titles?

    1: Starcraft 2
    2: Starcraft 2
    ...
    21: Starcraft 2
