Yeah, THQ don't half dish out some utter crap. They must be the worst culprit for cashing in on movies.

So long as people are willing to buy crap, companies will continue to make crap. The way I see it, if it's easy money to help fund triple A titles and so long as those of dubious taste are willing to buy into it, let it continue.
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

i see what your saying. i know "exploiting" seems a harsh word to describe it but its kinda whats going on for such titles when kids get obsessed with the movie, parents buy the game, kid is gutted at the lameness, younger crowds arent expected to read reviews, watch trailers etc i failed on that notion too when i bought Transformers the Movie, im a massive Transformers geek and just went straight for the game as soon as it hit the shelf . . . . . . . . . . there was tears lol.
anywho - im going a little deep into it which i appologise for.

one last question (and there must be one) when was the last time you played a movie conversion of a game and REALLY enjoyed it? got me thinking now.

There is however, obviously, a market for such titles. I remember when my nephew was obsessed with Pokemon and loved anything to do with the franchise (poor sod, he's over it now though); continually playing a PSOne "battle" game. It was tripe but he was happy so long as it had the characters doing stuff. I don't think it's exploitation. It's there to serve a purpose, giving people a taste of what they desire.

I suspect many of those buying the games have little personal experience in gaming. Perhaps as gaming becomes more widespread, those growing up with it will be less inclined to buy those titles for their children, thus forcing a change to the "quality" we see at present.

I can't honestly think of any, not at least any that are directly tied to a movie. As for titles based on a franchise, yes there are plenty; several Star Wars games for example.
