Off topic - sort of. Talking of cheap games, I noticed that The Golden Compass seemed to be the bargain basement game over Xmas. It's only just been released, yet GAME and Gamestation were selling the Wii and Xbox 360 versions for 50% off. Must be rubbish, no wonder they didn't send us a review copy.

My local Sainsbury has been increasing its range of software, but mainly 360 and PS3 games, far fewer PC games than a couple of years back. Anyway I'm probably going to be using download services like steam more in 2008.
p.s. independent games stores are becoming instinct? Maybe extinct.

GAME and gamestation are pretty much the only high street gaming stores I see these days - and I only tend to go to them for pre-orders as they tend to be more expensive than anywhere else.
BTW M&S isn't an OAP store They sell good quality clothes (great for suit + business shirts) and have great food (if you haven't already, try their sea salt + black peppercorn crisps..best I have ever tasted)
You would imagine that other stores (ie Tescos) will also follow suit now.
Myu current Tesco has 1 side of a row for games, with a slightly bigger row for cards and another larger one for books. And another one for CDs, DVDs etc. I wonder which generates the most profit, for a given floor space?

My local HMV have reduced the size of the PC section down to the end of a row! Went in looking for CoD4 and was a bit niffed as it took me a while to find the 'selection' and then it wasn't there. I'll have to try Sainsburys!
