Will install these tonight! Not expecting any massive performance gains but I guess every little helps.
they better had sorted out that administrative rights problem, so annoying.
Why does Hexus cover the ATI drivers released every month but never mentions Nvidia driver updates? Seems a little odd. I'm not that fussed as I own an ATI card, I'm just a little curious what the reason is.
I'm hoping that with this release they will have fixed the issue with Vista 64bit where it jumps out to the desktop saying display driver has stopped responding but has recovered. Will try them out in the next few days.
ATI's drivers are numbered as follows...
Main version number (ie 8) is for the year from 2000, so version 8 is a 2008 driver, and the secondary number is the month...so 8.1 is Jan 2008!
Old puter - still good enuff till I save some pennies!
I have an old ATI graphics card (9600 pro) and I have found that subsequent driver releases actually meant that I could no longer play the games that I could before I upgraded. I guess they just have too many cards out to support the old ones properly.
Did this driver fix the problem with HD 2XXX AGP cards???
